Illegal Aliens?

I was in my class on social welfare tonight and the subject of illegal aliens came up in class. My teacher said she though the term alien was a very derogatory term to use. She said that these people are not from another planet. Most all of my classmates agreed with her. I just shook my head thinking; "Are all these people serious?" The term "alien" is not an exclusive term referring to beings from another planet. It is a perfectly fine term to use for these people who are here illegally. They do not belong in this country and are therefore aliens to this country.

I stated that my biggest problem with these people is that they are ILLEGAL! I do not think that my taxes should go toward helping these people through any governmental social welfare program. They are not legal citizens. I also do not think that they should be arrested and taken care of in our prisons either. They need to be returned to their homeland in the most inexpensive way possible.

It is becoming a regular thing for me to butt heads with my teachers and classmates because I am so much more conservative politically than nearly all of them. I do not intend to be a trouble maker, but I also can only listen to liberal rants for so long in silence. Anyway, these people are illegal and alien to our land so this term should not be avoided or changed when discussing them. I hate political correctness.
